JAFRA began transforming the beauty sales environment in August 1956. The place was Malibu, California, a beautiful oceanside community along the Pacific coast. A young couple, Jan and Frank Day, studied the ancient beauty secrets of the Egyptians. Their findings inspired the creation of a unique skin care product: Royal Jelly. With their signature product, Jan and Frank decided to start a company. They called it JAFRA, a combination of their first names (JA-FRA). The company expanded to include quality products in Skin Care, Fragrance, Color Cosmetics and Toiletries.
